Automatic Coffee Pod Opening and Recycling

A coffee pod recycling or repacking machine automatically opens used coffee pods and separates the coffee grounds from the packaging. This allows the coffee waste to be collected separately and prepared for further processing or recycling.

Used coffee pods are automatically fed into the machine. A controlled mechanical process then opens or shreds the pods, releasing the coffee grounds inside.

Collecting the Coffee Grounds

After opening the pods, the released coffee grounds are collected in a dedicated collection system. Depending on the application, the coffee can be discharged into a container, bag, hopper or other collection system.

Sensors can also monitor the filling level and control the automatic discharge of the collected coffee grounds.

Shredding and Separation

The machine can use a shredding or cutting system to open and process the used coffee pods. After shredding, a separation system can separate the coffee grounds from the remaining packaging material.

The separation method can be adapted to the specific materials and required output quality.

Fully Automated Recycling Process

The complete process can be automated:

Feeding → opening/shredding → separation → coffee collection → waste discharge

The machine can also be connected to conveyors, hoppers, collection containers and downstream recycling equipment. This creates a continuous and controlled recycling process.
